July 25th, 2009

As we get close to August, and the final leg of summer, it’s time to get busy on the water. I had the privilege of working at the 4th annual Fish Fest at Wolf Lake Fish Hatchery this past month, and would again like to thank everyone there for their hard work and efforts to promote our sport and keep our fish healthy. It was a great time with great weather, and I’m looking forward to attending again next year.

Just this past weekend, Big Cobra and I hit the water to compete in the Scotty Bud Bass Classic on Gull Lake. With his expert tutelage and knowledge of the lake, we were able to secure a 3rd place finish. I had a great time fishing with Big Cobra again, and will be first to sign the petition to make dock fishing illegal in next years competition.

Coming up, me and the Cobra will be heading to New York. We heard “Cats” was in town, so we thought we’d go see it. But first, we will head up to Plattsburg to fish Lake Champlain for our second stop on the BASS Northern schedule. We are looking forward to some good fishing, and a chance to check out some new water.

Also, I was given the opportunity this year to attend and work at ICAST, and had a great time with the Vicious, Live Target and Okuma people. I had the opportunity to spend time in all of the booths, and get to meet and discuss products with the staff. I am excited about all of the new products that will be hitting the shelves from all of them next year, and will be spending a great deal of time this winter introducing you to all of them.

See you all on the lake….
